Southampton vs West Ham Betting Tips

Southampton are a bit of an enigma this season. They have the capability to thrash teams like Arsenal 4-0, but at other times look completely bereft of confidence and lose against relegation threatened teams such as Norwich.

Their form seems to be split into blocks, and currently they are enjoying one of their blocks of good form. They haven’t lost any of their last four matches in the Premier League and have secured results against the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal during this period.

Three of these four matches have been victories for Southampton, but before that they had only won one of their previous ten games in all competitions, with eight of them being defeats.

Despite this spell of horrendous form Southampton are still holding on to a fairly promising league position. They sit in 7^th position in the Premier League, five points adrift of West Ham above them and level on points with 8^th place Liverpool.

West Ham themselves will be enjoying the comfortable cushion they have over their opponents, but they will be looking upwards towards a Europa League position. Manchester United occupy 5^th position with just one more point accumulated than West Ham.

West Ham’s 2-0 win over bottom of the table Aston Villa on Tuesday put an end to their three match winless streak in all competitions and allowed them to keep pace with Manchester United above them.

They have managed five wins in their last eight outings though, and typically they have been very difficult to beat. West Ham have only lost once in their last 13 matches.

Both teams are looking good up front at the moment. Southampton have managed to net 12 times in their last eight games and West Ham have put it in the back of the net 13 times in the same period.
