St Etienne vs Le Havre Predictions

Goals may be scarce at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard

The evidence of last week’s matches suggests goals could be few and far between when Saint Etienne host Le Havre in Ligue 1 on Saturday evening.

Les Verts lacked penetration in their 1-0 defeat to a very good Monaco side at Stade Louis II, finishing with an expected goals tally of 0.4, while Le Havre’s xG tally was half that again despite Didier Digard’s men finding the back of PSG’s net in a 4-1 home loss.

The Normans struggled on the road last season, taking only four points from their final 10 away league fixtures and a coaching change was needed in the summer.

Les Verts are tough to trust without playmaker 

However, they will need to come out to play more than they did against Luis Enrique’s side, who limited them to a total of five shots in 90 minutes.

Saint-Etienne are favored in the match result market and it’s easy to see why after their brilliant home form propelled them to and through the playoffs at the back end of last season.

But they lost key attacker Irvin Cardona in the summer and are without a number of other players through injury here and may be a little too short to trust. Opposing goals looks the best way to go with under 2.5 in the match available at 8/11 and backable at that price.
