Struggling St Etienne to score again in defeat

Lyon are gradually playing their way into form and can take care of rock bottom St Etienne this Sunday, although the struggling hosts are tipped to get on the scoresheet at Stade Geoffroy Guichard.

After a sluggish start to the campaign which included a woeful 3-0 defeat at Angers, Lyon have amassed ten points from their last five Ligue 1 matches, and they made it five wins from seven across all competitions with a facile 3-0 success over Brondby in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

With hapless St Etienne winless in eight league fixtures and defeated in their last five, we can’t see past a Lyon success this Sunday, however there’s a decent chance of goals being netted at both ends.

Despite their awful results, St Etienne have managed to strike in six of their eight Ligue 1 games thus far, so Les Verts are definitely capable of getting something against a Lyon backline that’s maintained just one clean sheet from eight in the league.
