      St Mirren vs Hamilton Predictions

      • Both teams have scored in four of St Mirren’s last seven home games.
      • The same has occurred in five of Hamilton’s last seven away days.
      • The hosts have scored 0.92 and have conceded 1 goal in their matches at St Mirren Park.
      • The Accies have scored 0.91 times but have let in 1.91 goals on their travels.

Buddies edging closer to the danger zone

St Mirren blew a 2-0 lead over the weekend as they drew 2-2 with Hibs at Easter Road, with the club now hovering over the relegation zone. The Buddies’ home record has been questionable so far, with three of their last six games ending in defeats.

Jim Goodwin has also struggled to get his side to find consistency in both ends of the pitch. The club has scored 11 goals in their 12 home games so far, although it’s just below the average of a goal a game- although the Buddies have scored at least once in six of their last eight home ties. Moreover, the Paisley outfit has done relatively well in defence too, where they’ve let in 12 goals in as many home ties, whilst also managing to keep a clean sheet in half those fixtures- but failing to so in four of their last six.

      Accies hit rock-bottom

Despite losing 4-1 to Celtic on Sunday, Hamilton put on a brave display against the reigning champions that didn’t reflect the Accies’ performance. However, this latest result means that the club now sits in bottom place.

The South Lanarkshire side has one of the worst away records in the league and has let in their fair share of goals, conceding 21 times in 11 games on the road- an average of 1.1 goals. Moreover, the Accies have only kept a clean sheet twice. Despite having some quality up front- namely Marios Ogkmpoe- Hamilton has only scored 10 times away from home but have only failed to score twice in their last seven.

      Relegation clash to end level

This is an important game for both clubs in their ensuing relegation battle, with the teams in desperate need of three points- something neither of them has done often enough. We’re going to back both teams to score here, with four of St Mirren’s last seven home ties seeing that happen as well as in five of Hamilton’s last seven away days. We’re also going for a low-scoring 1-1 draw, as the Buddies have scored 0.92 and let in 1 goal on average this season at St Mirren Park, whilst the Acies have netted 0.91 times and have conceded 1.91 goals on their travels.
