Another defeat for Bochum

St Pauli can win at home to Bochum on Saturday. Alexander Blessin’s side are virtually safe barring a mathematical miracle but with the pressure off they can finish the season with a win at Millerntor-Stadion.

They are four places above relegated Bochum in the table, with ten points separating the two teams. Bochum, bottom of the table, have won just five times this season, while St Pauli have eight victories.

The hosts have been solid at the back, conceding just 17 goals in 16 home games this season – an average of 1.06 goals per game.

The visitors are enduring a rough spell. Bochum have only won on one of their last eight Bundesliga road trips and have not tasted victory in any of their last three away games.

The visitors have been disappointing in front of goal away from home this season, scoring just 15 goals in 16 games – an average of 0.94 goals a game.

The visitors have had their share of defensive issues this season. Bochum have failed to keep a clean sheet in 15 of their last 18 Bundesliga games and have conceded 34 goals in 16 road games – an average of 2.13 goals per game.

A 2-0 home win for St Pauli looks the best correct-score bet. Three of Bochum’s last four Bundesliga games have had fewer than three goals and they have sustained eight two-goal reverses in the league this season.
