      Start vs Bodo Glimt Predictions

Start only narrowly avoided relegation from the Norway Eliteserien last season as they finished a point above the automatic relegation positions and entered a relegation playoff against Jerv. Fortunately for them they managed to win that, but they don’t seem to have learned from last season.

They come into gameweek 15 in the Eliteserien with a measly six points. This puts them six points from safety already, and they are yet to win a game in the league this season. Unsurprisingly they are bottom of the table and already four points adrift of 15th placed Stabaek.

Four of Start’s last six matches in the league have ended in defeat, and at home they have picked up just three points from a possible 21 this term. It’s not looking good for them at the moment, and they’ll need to turn it around very soon to stand any chance of avoiding the drop.

Bodo/Glimt aren’t having the best season either though. They finished in a rather comfortable 9th last season with 40 points from their 30 games, but approaching the halfway point in this season they have only managed 12 points. This return puts them down in 13th position and just a point above the relegation playoff position that Valarenga occupy.

They did manage to get a draw at home to league leaders and champions Rosenborg at the weekend though, which should have boosted their confidence a bit. However, they have only won one of their last six in all competitions, drawing three times and losing twice.

Away from home Bodo/Glimt aren’t doing that badly to be fair. They have won three of their last five in all competitions on the road, although in the Eliteserien they have only managed one victory.

But with Start’s winless record so far this season the visitors will be approaching this game with a cautious optimism. My prediction is for them to get something from the match, and I think odds of 8/13 for a Bodo/Glimt Win or Draw Double Chance are good value for money, and I’m also backing a 1-1 correct score prediction at 11/2.
