Stevenage can make home advantage count

Stevenage are the best bet to win at home to Northampton on Saturday. The hosts have started the season with consecutive victories.

Stevenage finished 14th last season, six points above Northampton in 19th. They won 15 games, drew 12 and lost 19, while Northampton had 12 wins, 15 draws and the same number of defeats.

A first-half goal was enough for Stevenage to get the job done against mid-table Rotherham in their last League One game last weekend. They justified their price of 5/6 to win the game by not allowing Rotherham a single shot on target.

They have scored in six of their last seven league games, and it’s four matches since they last failed to find the net.

Northampton’s form is concerning. Kevin Nolan’s men have failed to win in four of their last six League One games. They have claimed just one point from their first two matches of the new season and could be heading for a defeat at the Lamex Stadium.

A narrow Stevenage win looks the most likely outcome, with a 1-0 home victory appealing in the correct-score market. Three of the last four League One meetings between these sides have had fewer than three goals and Stevenage have won their last two league games by a goal.
