Stoke vs Liverpool Betting Tips

Stoke seem to have two separate teams at the moment. They beat Everton in an absolutely thrilling 4-3 win last Monday, but then didn’t look capable of mounting any sort of attacking opportunities in their 2-1 defeat to West Brom on Saturday.

However, they are in very good form overall coming into this game. They have only lost three of their last 13 matches and have won six of their last ten in all competitions.

This has taken them to 10^th in the Premier League table despite failing to win any of their first five games.

Their Capital One Cup campaign has seen them beat Luton on penalties, win 1-0 at Fulham, overcome Chelsea on penalties, and convincingly win 2-0 against a Sheffield Wednesday side who knocked Arsenal out.

Liverpool also suffered defeat at the weekend, with the first Premier League match of 2016 seeing the out of form West Ham beat them 2-0.

This match brought the same old problems back to the surface for Liverpool. They lost 3-0 against Watford before Christmas, but had since won back to back games and kept two clean sheets. But their loss against West Ham saw them display the same defensive frailties that they showed in that dismal loss against Watford.

This makes it just two wins for Liverpool in their last six outings, although their last Capital One Cup outing saw them thrash Southampton 6-1 away from home.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, coming up against Stoke could be much the same as West Ham and Watford. They possess powerful strikers capable of testing their shaky defence and, depending on which Liverpool side shows up, the visitors could really struggle on Tuesday.

I think Stoke can get the win on Tuesday, but it would be foolish to rule out Liverpool getting a draw to take back to Anfield with them. Odds of 2.100 for a Stoke 0.0 Asian Handicap win look excellent value as well.
