Stoke vs Manchester United Predictions
Stoke managed to bounce back from their FA Cup elimination in emphatic style last weekend as they defeated Sunderland 3-1 away from home. However, their form at the moment still leaves a lot to be desired.
They have won just two of their last eight outings in all competitions and they’ve conceded a dreadful 16 goals over this period, keeping just two clean sheets. In fairness it hasn’t been the easiest run of fixtures for them, but their second half collapse against Leicester, their failure to beat Southampton at home, and their loss to Wolves are all worrying signs.
This leaves The Potters in 9th position in the Premier League, with two points separating them from the impressive West Brom but only two points above 13th placed Southampton. A lot can change in this section of the table.
Manchester United’s winning streak came to an end at the weekend, but the last ditch equaliser from Zlatan Ibrahimovic did at least secure them a point at home to Liverpool. This keeps them in touch with the top four, and they are now just two points behind 5th placed Manchester City.
That 1-1 draw may have ended their nine match winning streak, but it did at least extend their unbeaten run to an impressive 16 matches in all competitions. Away from home they have won five and drawn one of their last six games as well.
A lot of credit must go to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The big Swede has saved Manchester United’s skin an unbelievable amount of times this season, and his goal on Sunday was his 14th league goal of the season. He has scored 11 goals in Manchester United’s last 13 games and has only failed to score in four of them, so backing him for at 10/11 to score anytime with bet365 looks like a good choice.
Stoke are missing a host of attacking players due to injury and the African Cup of Nations as well, whilst Manchester United have kept a clean sheet in three of their last four trips away. In fact, both teams have scored in just five of Manchester United’s last 13 away days and in just two of Stoke’s last eight at home. This makes odds of 4/5 for Both Teams Not to Score look good value, and I’m also going for a 2-0 win for the visitors at 7/1 for my correct score predictions.
