      Stuttgart -1

      Reason for tip

Stuttgart were good value for their 4-1 win in the first leg and with Celtic potentially set to rest players with one eye on their crucial Scottish Premiership clash against Rangers on Sunday, Die Roten are fancied for another comfortable success. Take the hosts to overcome a goal deficit on the handicap.

      Stuttgart 3-1

      Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in seven of Celtic’s nine Europa League games this season and a repeat of that could be on the cards against a Stuttgart side who have conceded seven goals in their last four outings. Take a 3-1 win for the home team.

      Stuttgart vs Celtic Predictions

      • Stuttgart have won 12 of their last 15 home games
      • Both teams have scored in eight of Celtic’s last nine matches
      • Stuttgart’s last three matches have gone over 3.5 goals

      Bhoys out of the tie

Celtic’s poor season went from bad to worse last week as they were hammered 4-1 at home by Stuttgart in the first leg of this Europa League play-off before Hibs recorded their first win at Celtic Park since 2010 on Sunday.

The Bhoys were reduced to ten men against the Hibees after Auston Trusty was sent off for an off-the-ball incident, adding to the availability issues of a squad who are without key men Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Arne Engels.

In light of that and before a crucial game against Rangers on Sunday, Martin O’Neill may choose to rotate with this tie all but over. Celtic are two points behind their rivals and six points off Scottish league leaders Hearts with a game in hand on both.

      Stuttgart fancied for smooth success

Stuttgart were a class apart in the first leg and should easily be able to take apart the demoralised visitors in this second game.

Die Roten were held to a 3-3 draw with Heidenheim on the road at the weekend but they remain fourth in the Bundesliga and their attacking talents should be too much for an injury-hit Celtic side. Take the hosts to overcome a goal deficit on the handicap in this one.

Both teams have scored in eight of Celtic’s last nine games and they could get on the scoresheet, albeit in defeat. Correct score backer should keep a 3-1 win on side in this one.
