Sunderland vs Everton Predictions
- Sunderland have 10 points from a possible 12 at home.
- Everton have just one win in their last six league games (D2, L3).
- Everton have four defeats in five trips across all competitions.
Sunderland look to continue dream start
Sunderland are the surprise package in the early stages of the season with 17 points on the board after nine Premier League games following their promotion last season, and they look good value to add Everton to their list of victims on Monday night.
Everton have made a reasonable start to the season themselves but their away form will be a concern for boss David Moyes.
The Merseyside outfit have four defeats in five away games across all competitions and they’ve failed to score in three of those fixtures.
Home comforts key for Sunderland
Sunderland’s excellent start to the season has been largely due to their impressive performances at the Stadium of Light. The Black Cats have been close to perfect in front of their own fans with 10 points from a possible 12, picking up wins over West Ham, Brentford and Wolves, and they should be able to make the most of their home advantage against an Everton side who travel poorly.
The hosts have been in good form in general and their 2-1 win at Chelsea last time out was their best result of the season so far. Régis Le Bris’ side have just one defeat in their last seven league games so it is a bit of a surprise to see them rated as slight underdogs here, and they look excellent value to claim maximum points.
Isidor a goal threat
A 2-0 win for Sunderland is the correct score prediction in part due to Everton’s struggles for goals on the road. The Blues have lost five games this season across all competitions and have failed to score in four of those losses.
That suggests Sunderland may be able to keep a clean sheet and as they’ve scored exactly two goals in each of their last two games, and at least two goals in all three of their home wins, a 2-0 home win looks a reasonable prediction.
Wilson Isidor is Sunderland’s leading scorer this season with four goals and he was on target against Chelsea last time out. Three of the Frenchman’s goals have come at this venue, and he looks the standout pick for an anytime effort.
