Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

These two teams drew 1-1 earlier in the season, while Sunderland have netted exactly once in four successive home games, including 1-1 stalemates with Luton and Bristol City. Hull on the other hand have drawn their last two away matches 1-1

Sunderland vs Hull City Predictions

  • Eight of Sunderland’s last ten home games have seen both teams score
  • Both teams have netted in three of Hull’s last four fixtures
  • The Tigers have only kept one clean sheet in their last seven outings on the road

Can Sunderland find some form?

It’s been a pretty desperate run of form for Sunderland, who have fallen seven points outside the play-offs after a run of one win in their last eight outings.

Tony Mowbray’s side have particularly struggled in defence, largely at home, where they have kept just two clean sheets in ten outings since mid-December, with the other eight of those games seeing both teams score.

That shows the Black Cats know where the back of the net is, despite Ross Stewart being out injured, while six of their last eight outings at all venues have seen both teams net.

Hull nearly safe

Visitors Hull on the other hand are nearly safe from relegation, aided by a run of one defeat in their last five outings, three of which have ended all square.

Liam Rosenior’s side are now nine points clear of danger, although they too have some defensive issues to iron out, with three of their last four games seeing both team score.

The Tigers have also seen both teams net in their last three clashes with Sunderland, including a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture earlier this season.

I predict that both teams will score in this game, with a 1-1 draw my correct score prediction.
