      Sunderland Draw No Bet

      Reason for tip

Sunderland have lost their last three home matches but a lot of that was down to an injury crisis which has since eased. The Black Cats were worthy winners in the Tyne-Wear derby before the international break and they are a much more cohesive side than Tottenham, who have gone 13 league games without a victory. Enigmatic manager Roberto De Zerbi has been tasked with turning things around but he took six games to get his first win at Brighton and is not sure to make an immediately positive impact.

      Sunderland 2-1

      Reason for tip

Picking up wins may have proved tough during the short-lived Igor Tudor era but scoring goals wasn’t an issue as Tottenham failed to find the net in only one of their seven games under the Croatian. Roberto De Zerbi’s attacking tactics should see them find some joy on Wearside but given they have conceded at least two goals in nine of their last ten games, it is hard to see them keeping Sunderland quiet at the other end.

      Brian Brobbey To Score Anytime

      Reason for tip

Brian Brobbey salvaged a point for Sunderland in January’s reverse fixture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and he can haunt Spurs again. The Dutch striker was the hero in the Black Cats’ derby win over Sunderland before the international break and will be full of confidence.

      Sunderland vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions

      • Ahead of this weekend, only seven Premier League teams had accumulated more home points than Sunderland’s 26
      • Tottenham are still searching for a first Premier League win of 2026
      • Spurs have failed to win any of their last 13 league games, losing eight

Tottenham hoping third time’s the charm

Igor Tudor’s miserable reign as Tottenham manager was brought to an end over the international break and given Spurs start the weekend just one point above the Premier League relegation zone, they cannot afford for Roberto De Zerbi to follow in his predecessor’s footsteps.

The combined failures of Thomas Frank and Tudor have left De Zerbi with a mammoth job to do but the good news is that while there are just seven games left, the bar is low – Tudor failed to win any of his five Premier League games in the Spurs dugout.

A first league win of 2026 is the aim in the Italian’s first game at Sunderland on Sunday but the Lilywhites’ league winless run now stands at 13 games and a team short of confidence are unlikely to earn a positive result on Wearside.

Sunderland set to spoil De Zerbi’s welcome party

De Zerbi isn’t exactly known for making a fast start, with it taking him six games to earn a win at Brighton during his last stint in England, and Sunderland are much more trustworthy in this current spot.

A 2-1 Tyne-Wear derby win at Newcastle meant the Black Cats signed off for the international break in the perfect fashion and Regis Le Bris’ men can build on that on Sunday.

Doubters will point towards their three-game losing streak at the Stadium of Light but a lot of that can be attributed to an injury crisis which has since eased, with excellent goalkeeper Robin Roefs and star defender Daniel Ballard set to return this weekend.

      Back Brobbey to score again

Spurs fans need De Zerbi’s attacking ideas to work instantly and they could, but that does not solve the issues at the other end. The Lilywhites conceded 20 goals in seven games under Tudor and it is a big ask for them to keep Sunderland quiet.

Tottenham may have enough to score on Wearside but three points should evade them again.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have to improve if Spurs are to have any chance of surviving but De Zerbi’s tactics will not see them return to their best overnight and Brian Brobbey should pounce on any errors.

The powerful Dutch forward was on target in January’s reverse fixture and will be full of confidence after his winner at St James’ Park.
