      Sunderland vs Watford Predictions

Sunderland were sure fire favourites for relegation after the first few weeks of the new season, but since Sam Allardyce has taken over he seems to have given them a new lease of life.

They are still going to struggle in my opinion, but the added belief their new manager has brought them is paying dividends at the moment.

Sunderland have won three of their last six matches in the Premier League, losing the other three. However, they have put in decent performances against Southampton and, most recently, Arsenal.

The 3-1 scoreline Arsenal won by last weekend looks a lot more comfortable than it was, and few could argue that Sunderland deserved a point from the game.

They are still in the drop zone though. Their 12 point tally leaves them one point from safety, but a win on Saturday could see them move as high as 15th and overtake Chelsea.

Watford are looking at more of a mid-table affair this season. They are in a respectable 10th position in the league after picking up 22 points from their first 15 games.

This is largely down to their in form strike force of Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney, who have scored 14 league goals between them and been involved in many more.

These two have been the driving force behind Watford winning four of their last six outings, with Stoke, West Ham, Aston Villa, and Norwich all falling victim to the Premier League’s most lethal strike force.

Watford are definitely the favourites coming into this tie, but don’t expect Sunderland to lie down. They have scored in five of their last six Premier League games, and Watford have conceded in three of their last four.

Sunderland’s goalkeeper has picked the ball out of his own net in all but three games this season, and I can’t see him keeping a clean sheet against a Watford side who have scored in each of their last six.

This makes odds of 5/6 for Both Teams to Score look very attractive, and I’m backing that along with a 2-1 Watford Win at 10/1.
