Sutton United vs Yeovil Town Predictions

  • Sutton United had looked in big trouble earlier on in the season but an excellent run of just one defeat in eight matches, of which they’ve won five, now have them up to 16th and four points clear of the drop zone.
  • Nonetheless, the side have won just three of their 13 home outings in the National League this season and confidence cannot be too high coming into the game.
  • Meanwhile, Yeovil themselves arrive in good form; unbeaten in eight matches across all competitions.
  • Currently in second, the visitors will be looking to secure victory as they continue to push towards a return to League Two.

Sutton looking to continue recent improvement

After threatening to push for a play-off place last season, Sutton have not been at the same level this campaign. That’s somewhat understandable, given they overachieved last term when taking into account they remain a part-time outfit, but the fact they are only four points above the drop zone is a concern.

Indeed, Sutton have struggled heavily for most of the season and only began to climb up the table in recent weeks, piecing together an excellent run of just one defeat in eight league matches, of which they’ve won five. Nonetheless, with just three home league victories all campaign, the hosts still have to be considered underdogs heading into Saturday’s televised clash.

Yeovil aiming to keep promotion push going

Meanwhile, it doesn’t feel too long ago since we were seeing Yeovil competing in the second tier of English football; they now find themselves in the National League. The side dropped out of League Two last season and are desperate to ensure their non-league stay is only a short one.

Currently second and level on points with leaders Barrow, Yeovil have definitely been one of the division’s strongest outfits. But the fact Barrow have a two-game advantage does illustrate there’s still work to be done.

However, unbeaten in eight matches and having won four of their last five games, Yeovil have real momentum behind them and will be confident heading into this trip.

Yeovil have to be fancied

Ultimately, with fixtures now coming thick and fast, you’d have to think this is where Yeovil’s professional status will help them. Already a stronger team than Sutton on paper and having performed better than them over the course of the campaign so far, Yeovil should also have superior fitness levels help them with the short turnover since Thursday’s games.

All things considered, we like the look of backing the visitors on the Draw No Bet line and feel it provides good value at current odds. Sutton haven’t been very strong at home this season and, although they are in good form now, so are Yeovil.

As the better side on paper, the away side should be able to secure all three points via a 2-1 margin of victory.
