Swans can tame Lions

Swansea should be backed to beat Millwall at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday, even with Millwall one place and two points above them in the table.

The Swans are 11th with two wins, two draws and two losses, while the Lions are tenth having won three, drawn one and lost two. This season, nine (53%) of the 17 games between teams in the top half have been home wins.

The hosts are in excellent form at home, having gone seven games without defeat in the Championship and losing just one of their last ten on their own patch. They are unbeaten in their three home games this season.

By contrast, Millwall’s recent form has been inconsistent, with three wins, one draw and two defeats in their last six games. The Lions upset the odds to beat Sheffield United 1-0 at odds of 13/5, but also suffered a heavy 3-0 loss to Middlesbrough. The visitors have struggled defensively too, failing to keep a clean sheet in five of their last seven Championship games.

Swansea have been in some low-scoring games of late, with six of their last eight finishing under 2.5 goals. Even so, there were four goals in their clash with Hull two weeks ago, when they drew 2-2, and with Millwall’s defence showing weakness, a 2-1 home win looks a decent correct-score bet.
