Swansea City Double Chance (Win or Draw)

Reason for tip

Swansea are unbeaten in six with three wins and three draws. They can avoid defeat against a Forest side reeling from two 3-0 losses in succession and now getting to know a new manager’s system. Forest have failed to win any of their last four Carabao Cup matches too.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Swansea have scored in each of their last six matches and bagged two at Sheffield Wednesday and at home to Hull recently. They can get on the scoresheet against a Forest defence that has struggled of late, but the visitors are capable of hitting back too in a 1-1 draw.

Ronald Martins To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Robald made it two goals in two games with his strike against Hull on Saturday. He also scored in Swansea’s first-round win over Crawley.

Swansea City vs Nottingham Forest Predictions

  • Swansea are unbeaten in six with three wins and three draws
  • Nottingham Forest have failed to win any of their last four Carabao Cup matches
  • Forest have lost their last two matches 3-0 and changed manager earlier this month

Forest could suffer same fate as Premier League trio

Nottingham Forest will aim to avoid suffering the same fate that some of their Premier League rivals did in round two when they begin their Carabao Cup campaign at Swansea’s Swansea.com Stadium on Tuesday.

Manchester United, Leeds, and Sunderland all crashed out to lower-league opposition, and this clash looks closer in terms of quality, with Swansea in better overall form than Forest.

Owner Evangelos Marinakis may choose to be at Olympiakos’ Champions League match on the same night, but he will certainly be closely monitoring developments in South Wales as newly-appointed Forest boss Ange Postecoglou takes charge of his second game.

Swansea capable of scoring goals

The ex-Spurs boss saw his side undone by a high-quality Arsenal performance on Saturday and will hope to use this clash to build some momentum ahead of more tough tests to come. But Swansea have a strong squad and remain unbeaten since the opening weekend of the season when they lost narrowly to Championship pacesetters Middlesbrough.

Alan Sheehan could start Adam Idah or Liam Cullen up front if he wants to rest either Zan Vipotnik or Ronald, who both scored in Swansea’s 2-2 draw with Hull on Saturday. The Swans do not lack creativity in the middle fo the park either, although they can be prone to falling to deep when tring to defend a lead.

Swansea are capable of getting a result against whatever team Postecoglou picks because Forest are in poor form after back-to-back 3-0 defeats. The Reds have not won a Carabao Cup game in two years either and with plenty on their plate this term due to the Europa League, it would be no surprise to see them bow out here.
