Swansea vs Crystal Palace Predictions
Swansea’s winless streak extended last weekend, but they probably won’t be too disappointed with dropping two points away to Everton considering their overall form at the moment.
This 1-1 draw made it 11 matches without a win in all competitions, eight of which have ended in defeat for the South Wales outfit. Bob Bradley, appointed before the 3-2 defeat to Arsenal, has only managed two points from a possible 15 since his arrival.
There have been some positives for the Swans. They have scored in ten of their last 12 matches in all competitions despite pre-season worries regarding their attacking prowess. It’s been at the back where they have struggled, conceding a disappointing 22 goals in their last 11 outings, which has resulted in eight of them ending with at least three goals in total.
Crystal Palace have seen the same sort of progression as Swansea from last season. No longer are they struggling going forward, illustrated by the fact they have netted in nine of their last ten Premier League games. However, they have conceded 18 times in their last eight games and haven’t kept a clean sheet in the league so far.
This awful defence means they have now lost five games on the bounce, and seven of their last ten outings have seen at least three goals scored in total. Despite both teams struggling massively, going forward last season this one looks to have the potential to be a very neutral-friendly clash.
Individually it’s been a bit of a mixed bag for both sides, with respective star strikers Fernando Llorente and Christian Benteke going off the boil a bit. As such, Gylfi Sigurdsson looks the best option for our anytime goalscorer predictions. The Icelandic attacking midfielder has scored twice in his last five games and comes in at odds of 21/10.
With both Swansea and Crystal Palace struggling at the back we’re expecting a high scoring game, made even more likely by the absence of Steve Mandanda through injury. Odds of 11/10 for Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams to Score look good value to me, as does 12/1 for a 2-2 correct score predictions.
