Swansea vs West Ham Predictions

After Swansea beat Crystal Palace 5-4 and then Sunderland 3-0 a couple of weeks later there were high hopes in South Wales that new manager Bob Bradley would be able to turn their sinking season around. At the moment it’s not looking like that will be the case though.

Their 3-0 loss to Middlesbrough last weekend was absolutely dreadful, and it came after a 3-1 defeat to West Brom. They have now lost 11 of their 17 league games this season and find themselves in 19th position and three points from safety.

Swansea’s most recent defeats have all come away from home, with their two wins making up their last two home results. However, before that they had lost five and drawn three of their last seven home games.

West Ham haven’t had the most successful of seasons either, but things are looking a bit brighter for them. After two shocking runs of form already this season they are in the midst of their second comeback.

They beat Hull 1-0 in a dour game last weekend, following on from a similarly poor performance in their 1-0 win over Burnley and a much better showing in a 2-2 draw at Anfield. In all honesty they deserved to lose last weekend and were saved by the woodwork countless times. In fact, West Ham fans actually voted the post as the Man of the Match.

Both these victories came at the London Stadium though, and away from home they have won one, drawn three, and lost seven of their 11 games in all competitions this season.

Michail Antonio has been the one saving grace for them this season, netting seven league goals and getting four of them away from home. He looks the best choice for our anytime goalscorer predictions at 13/8.

The visitors have improved defensively in their last couple of games, but both of these have been at home. Away from home they have conceded 17 in their eight matches in the league, with seven of their 11 away days in all competitions seeing at least three goals. Swansea have seen at least three goals in seven of their last eight at home too and have the worst defensive record in the league, so backing Over 2.5 Goals at 4/5 looks a good choice. I’m going for a high scoring 2-2 correct score predictions at 12/1 as well.
