Sydney FC vs Brisbane Roar Betting Tips

Sydney FC’s winless streak came to an end on Tuesday when the out of form A-League champions Melbourne Victory got the better of them with a 1-0 victory.

This was Sydney FC’s first defeat in six league matches, with three of these games ending in victory for last season’s runners up.

This good form, coupled with the top three’s poor form, has seen their early season poor results negated, and they are well in with a shout of challenging for the top spot again.

Unfortunately for them, they have a number of challengers. There are just three points between the A-League leaders Western Sydney Wanderers and 5^th placed Sydney FC.

Brisbane Roar sit within that range as well. They are in 3^rd position having lost the top spot last weekend.

The top two sides go head to head on Friday as well, so there will definitely be an opportunity for both of these sides to improve their standing in the table.

But Brisbane Roar will have to get over some terrible recent results if they want to rocket back to the top of the table. They lost 4-1 at home to Adelaide United last Friday, with that result following a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Melbourne Victory.

This makes it two wins, two defeats, and a draw in their last five Hyundai A-League matches, with the three failures to win being their most recent results.

Sydney FC have done well against Brisbane Roar in recent times. They drew 0-0 at home earlier in the season, taking their unbeaten streak against Brisbane Roar to six matches. Three of those six have seen Sydney FC take all three points.

Brisbane Roar look like they are at the beginning of a poor run of form, and I think Sydney FC will turn it into something to worry about for the visitors on Saturday. Odds of 6/5 for a home win on Saturday look good value to me, and I’m going for a 2-1 correct score prediction at 8/1 as well.
