Sydney FC vs Central Coast Mariners Predictions

  • Sydney FC have had an almost perfect start to the season, losing just one game in a very controversial game against Western Sydney Wanderers.
  • Central Coast Mariners have only played seven matches so far but find themselves rooted to the bottom of the table, losing four of their seven matches so far.
  • Sydney FC have scored 16 goals in their last five games with Adam Le Fondre leading the way with 10 goals so far this year.
  • Last weekend was the first time Central Coast Mariners have failed to score, averaging a goal a game so far.

Can Sydney FC continue their fantastic form?

Sydney FC have started their season superbly, winning seven of their eight games and scoring an average of 2.6 goals a game. They have looked unbeatable in recent weeks and now come into this game facing the team at the bottom of the table and struggling for goals.

Last weekend’s 5-1 demolition of Brisbane Roar underlined the quality that Steve Corica has at his disposal and without any major injury or suspension problems, the hosts will be hoping to pick up another big win and assert their dominance over the league.

The only way is up for The Mariners

Central Coast Mariners come into the game in 11th place and struggling for confidence after another loss last match week, this time a 2-0 loss to Brisbane Roar. Things are looking bleak for the side, as they fail to put any results together and certainly look one of the weakest sides in the league once again.

The Mariners have averaged just a goal a game this season, although they have scored in all but one game, they haven’t been able to translate that to results, winning just twice and losing four matches, three of those by more than one goal.

Foregone conclusion or is there a shock in store?

This one certainly looks like only ending one way, and we’re on board with that view, predicting that Sydney will beat even the large asian handicap line they’ve been given. The line is currently set at -1.5 and we think Sydney FC have enough talent in their line up to comfortable beat that line.

A large win for Sydney seems the most likely outcome between these two sides and we’re anticipating that the hosts will be 4-0 winners this weekend. They look far too strong for their opponents and anything other than a Sydney win would be a big shock.
