Torino vs Cagliari Predictions

Both of these sides were in league action on Monday night. Torino drew their game away to Udinese, dropping more points as they failed to close the gap on the European places. They’re now four points behind fifth placed Napoli, which already seems like a bit of a stretch for Il Toro.

Cagliari had a much better time of things, as they were 2-1 winners over Palermo. That win moved them nine points clear of the bottom three, and it put them into the top half. These two sides are now level on points in the league. While they’ve had differing fortunes so far, one thing they do share is a pretty strong scoring record.

Torino score 2.4 goals per home match on average. They’ve managed to find the net in their last six games in Serie A. This isn’t just a recent goal surge either, the hosts have maintained a good record in front of goal all season. In fact, they’ve failed to score in just 18% of their games so far. They’re expected to continue that this weekend, as they head into this fixture as odds on favourites.

A key part of Torino’s recent scoring form is forward Adem Ljajic. He’s been a player who has looked like he could be a star all his career, but now he’s starting to find some consistency. The forward arrived in the summer, and he’s now showing why Il Toro took a chance on him. He’s found the net four times in his five starts since returning from injury. Given his recent good form, he’s worth looking at to score any time, at 13/8 with bet365.

Torino, and Joe Hart in particular, need to worry about the Cagliari attack. While Hart is having a better time in Italy than reports suggest, he’s facing a high scoring side on Saturday. The visitors have scored in 91% of their matches so far, while they average 1.73 goals per game. Seeing as Torino have conceded in their last six, the Sardinians will fancy their chances of netting again here.

Cagliari have an even worse defensive record than Torino, they’ve conceded in seven straight games. Obviously that makes them a side who feature in some high scoring matches, 100% of their games have seen over 2.5 goals this term. Il Toro aren’t far behind, with more than two goals in 82% of their results.

With goals expected, we’re backing Over 2.5 and both teams to score. Both teams have scored in 82% of their matches this term, and these are two high scoring sides. We can’t help but back both to find the net and plenty of goals, especially with this bet priced at 10/11 with bet365.
