Torino To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Cremonese have failed to score in six of their last nine league games, only netting 15 times in 22 Serie A outings all season. Torino, meanwhile, have won three of their last six at home to nil and beat Cremonese away from home earlier this season.

Torino 1-0

Reason for tip

Torino have only hit multiple goals once in their last 10 matches, and just 14 goals have been scored in their 10 home league outings this term. Only six goals have been scored by visiting teams at Torino all season, and Cremonese look highly unlikely to trouble them.

Torino vs Cremonese Predictions

  • Cremonese are the only team yet to win a game in Serie A this season, and have only scored 15 times in 22 matches.
  • Torino have only lost one of their last six home games, winning four – three of them to nil.
  • Torino have Serie A’s fifth-best defensive record this term, only conceding 23 goals.

Cremonese’s long wait continues

Cremonese are still waiting on their first win of the Serie A season after 22 games, and the Coppa Italia semi-finalists are 11 points adrift of safety ahead of Monday’s trip to Torino. Davide Ballardini’s men are surely destined for a swift return to Serie B after struggling to find any consistent source of goals this campaign, and a trip to face Ivan Juric’s solid top-seven contenders may not offer them much joy.

Indeed, Cremonese have only scored 15 times in 22 league outings this season – a worse tally than all but Sampdoria, who look overwhelming likely to join them in the second tier next term. Last week’s 3-0 thrashing at Napoli made it back-to-back defeats to nil in Serie A, and Cremonese have now failed to net in six of their last nine league outings, only scoring once in their last four away league trips.

Torino, then, look well placed to keep the visitors out, with only four teams – Napoli, Juventus, Lazio and Roma – conceding fewer than their 23 goals against in Serie A this campaign. Torino beat Cremonese 2-1 on the road earlier this season, but just six of their goals conceded have come at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. Il Toro have won four of their last six at home, only losing once and keeping clean sheets in three of their victories.

Shutout always likely when Cremonese visit

Given Cremonese’s awful attacking returns and Torino’s solid defensive displays, backing the hosts to win to nil appears a no brainer for Monday’s fixture.

Meanwhile, just 14 goals have been scored across Torino’s 10 home league games this season, and they have only hit multiple goals once in their last 10 matches, so a 1-0 victory for Juric’s men looks like a prudent correct score prediction.
