Tottenham Hotspur

      Tip Reasoning

Tottenham Hotspurs’ loss against Anderlecht in their 3rd group match of the Europa League saw the Belgians overtake them in Group J and take 2nd place.

Both teams have picked up four points from their opening three games, with Anderlecht leading on head to head results after their win at home in the last match.

Before this Spurs had beaten Qarabag and drawn in Monaco, whilst Anderlecht had drawn at home to Monaco and lost against Qarabag.

Overall, both teams are in pretty good form. Spurs have only lost once in their last seven matches in all competitions, with three wins and three draws making up the rest of their results.

Their last two games have seen Spurs win 5-1 against Bournemouth and 3-1 against Aston Villa, and with Harry Kane getting back on the scoresheet it could be looking up for the home side at the moment.

Anderlecht’s last defeat was their 1-0 loss away to Qarabag, and since then they have won four and drawn two of their six games.

This includes wins against Spurs and Club Brugge, and they are sitting in 2nd position in the Pro League just a point behind leaders Gent.

This is the first time Anderlecht have paid a visit to White Hart Lane, with both of their previous meetings occurring on their home turf. I think they will struggle against a Spurs side high on confidence after two impressive results.

Odds of 8/11 for a Spurs win on Thursday look like good value for money to me. The home side have only lost one of their last ten matches at White Hart Lane, winning six. Meanwhile Anderlecht have only won twice in their last six away days in all competitions.

I’m definitely going for a Spurs win at 8/11 on Thursday, and I’m also backing a 3-1 correct score prediction at 12/1.
