Tottenham Hotspur vs NS Mura Predictions
- Tottenham have three wins in four home games so far, with one defeat.
- Mura have lost four of their last seven European games (W1, D2).
- Mura lost 2-0 at home to Vitesse in their ECL opener.
Tottenham can put domestic struggles to one side
Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo is under real pressure after a one-sided 3-1 defeat at North London rivals Arsenal on Sunday ahead of Thursday’s visit of Mura in the Europa Conference League.
Spurs were particularly poor in the first half at the Emirates as they looked disjointed and lacking any inventiveness in attack, but it would still register as a huge shock if they were to fail to beat their Slovenian opponents in Europe’s third tier competition.
Nuno may opt to make a few changes to his team for this fixture ahead of Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Aston Villa, but I’m still expecting the manager to name a strong team as Spurs bid to get back to winning ways.
Tottenham have lost each of their last three Premier League games and have just one win in their last five, and that success came via penalties in an EFL Cup tie with Nuno’s former club Wolves.
Mura are unbeaten in their last five games domestically but in Europe they have struggled since coming through the first round of Champions League qualifying in July. The Murska Sobota outfit have just one win in their last seven European games (D2, L4) and lost 2-0 at home to Dutch club Vitesse in their ECL Group G opener.
Spurs may be struggling right now but at home they have still managed to pick up results and have three wins and three clean sheets in four games, with one loss coming against Chelsea. Tottenham should still have far too much quality for Mura on Thursday despite their current struggles and a home win with a -1 handicap is my main bet in this match up. Tottenham don’t look great, or even average, in attack in these early stages of Nuno’s tenure but they should still be able to win comfortably here and a 2-0 home win looks to have a chance for correct score bettors.
