      Tottenham Hotspur vs Sunderland Predictions

Tottenham Hotspur failed to beat Leicester at White Hart Lane for the second time in four days on Wednesday, and they won’t be looking forward to facing them in the FA Cup replay away from home.

This 1-0 defeat to the surprise package of the Premier League made it three games without a win in all competitions for Spurs, a run which has put their top four position in jeopardy.

They do still hold on to their 4th place in the Premier League though, although Manchester City have moved four points clear of them in 3rd and 5th placed West Ham are just a point behind them now.

Sunderland will be coming into this game fired up as well after their impressive 4-2 win over fellow relegation candidates Swansea in midweek.

Jermain Defo netted a hat trick on Wednesday, leading Sunderland to just their second win in their last eight outings in all competitions, with all of the other six being defeats.

This record leaves them in the relegation zone of the Premier League, but they are just two points from 17th placed Swansea after their midweek victory.

Spurs haven’t lost a competitive game against Sunderland since 2010, with Spurs coming out victorious in eight of the 11 meetings since then.

Sunderland’s problems have all been at the back this season, and at the other end of the pitch they have managed to find the net in eight of their last ten matches. Unfortunately for them they have conceded 18 goals during this period.

Five of the last seven meetings between the sides has seen both sides hit the back of the net as well, which makes odds of 1/1 for Both Teams to Score look incredibly good value. I’m also backing a 3-1 Spurs win at 11/1 as well.
