Conte era begins at Spurs

Tottenham entertain Vitesse in the Europa Conference League on Thursday in their first game since Antonio Conte was confirmed as the club’s new manager.

A rotated Spurs side lost the reverse fixture 1-0 in the Netherlands but the arrival of a new boss, particularly one of Conte’s calibre, should provide a much needed morale boost and the North Londoners can take their revenge in front of their own fans.

Spurs went down 3-0 at home to Manchester United at the weekend but overall their home form was fairly strong under former boss Nuno Espirito Santo.  Tottenham have five wins in seven home games this term, losing the other two, and have won both of their European home games so far by three or more goals.

With a tough game to come against Everton at the weekend, Spurs are unlikely to name their strongest side for this tie in Europe’s third tier tournament but they should still put out a team strong enough to win fairly comfortably, A home win with a -1 handicap looks a good option for the main bet, while a 3-0 win for Spurs is the correct score selection.
