Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

These sides played out a 2-2 Coupe de France thriller on Wednesday, with Toulouse eventually prevailing on penalties in that quarter-final, and another spectacle is on the cards. Both teams to score has landed in three of OM’s last four games, as well as three of their hosts’ last four, and looks a solid selection.

Draw 2-2

Reason for tip

Amazingly, Wednesday’s thrilling quarter-final means the last five head-to-heads have produced at least four goals and there is no reason to believe a repeat of that 2-2 draw can’t play out again. Both teams are struggling with Toulouse without five Ligue 1 games and Marseille managing just one in their last five league outings, and they may split the points

Toulouse vs Marseille Predictions

  • Toulouse have gone five Ligue 1 games without a win
  • Marseille have managed only one win in five Ligue 1 matches
  • The last five meetings between these sides have produced at least four goals

Marseille might have to work hard to exact revenge

Revenge will be on Marseille’s mind when they head to Toulouse on Saturday, having been knocked out of the Coupe de France by the same opponents just three days earlier.

OM twice threw away a lead before being beaten on penalties at their Stade Velodrome home and the fans were not shy in voicing their disdain, throwing flares and booing after Ethan Nwaneri’s decisive missed spot-kick.

Habib Beye had begun to get the fans onside by leading Marseille to a 3-2 win over Lyon last weekend but all that good work was undone with Wednesday’s cup exit and their inability to defend means they are no sure things to bounce back at the Stadium de Toulouse.

Both teams to play their part in a Toulouse thriller

Toulouse will be buzzing after making the Coupe de France semi-finals and that should help them go some way to arresting their disappointing Ligue 1 form.

The Violets have gone four league games without a win but they showed plenty of attacking prowess on Wednesday, suggesting they can score alongside Marseille in another thrilling head-to-head.

For each of these sides, both teams to score has landed in three of their last four games and with the same bet hitting in five straight head-to-heads, it rates a solid selection again.
