Tranmere tough to beat at home

Tranmere have been tough to beat at Prenton Park this season, they have taken 44 points from their 20 league matches on home soil and as a result hold the best home record in League Two this season. Tranmere are unbeaten in their last six home matches and will need to rely on their home form for the remainder of the season if they are to secure a play-off spot come the end of the season – Tranmere are currently seventh, just a point ahead of Newport. 

Rovers may settle for a point  

Bristol Rovers have enjoyed a fruitful 2022 to date. Joey Barton’s side have played 19 times in the league since the turn of the year and have only been beaten on three occasions. It’s a run of form that has seen Rover’s cruise into the top seven and look set for a crack at the play-offs. Bristol Rovers travel to the side who hold the best home record in the division and will probably settle for a point as they will be wary of relinquishing ground to fellow play-off hopeful.

Saturday’s game may well go the same way as the reverse fixture, which finished all square at the Memorial Ground back in November. The main selection for Saturday’s game at Prenton Park will be a draw, a result that will probably better suit the visitors in the relative promotion quests of these two sides.
