Tranmere vs Carlisle Predictions

- Prenton Park
Tranmere and Both Teams To Score
Tranmere 2-1
Tip Reasoning
- Both teams have scored in five of Tranmere’s last seven games
- Four of Carlisle’s last six away fixtures have seen both teams net
- Tranmere have the best home record in League Two
Rovers desperate for three points
Tranmere have dropped to seventh place in League Two, inside the play-off positions only on goal difference, but their home form remains outstanding, racking up 14 wins in 19 matches.
Micky Mellon’s side have won their last two at Prenton Park, 3-2 against Mansfield and 2-0 against Harrogate, but both teams have netted in five of their last seven fixtures, showing their defence is not as solid as it was.
They also have a pretty impressive record against Carlisle, picking up five successive victories against the Cumbrian outfit, including a 1-0 win at Brunton Park in October.
Carlisle revival means they’re all but safe
The turnaround in Carlisle’s form since Paul Simpson returned to the club has been quite remarkable, with six wins in nine matches leaving them 12 points clear of the bottom two.
The Cumbrians have lost two of their last four though, against Newport and Rochdale, while they have kept just one clean sheet in eight away matches.
Both teams have scored in four of their last six away games and it is hard to see how they will keep a Tranmere attack quiet.
I predict a home win, but with both teams scoring in the match, selecting 2-1 to Rovers as a correct score prediction.
