Little hope for the hosts

The hosts sit rooted to the bottom of the table and don’t come into this one in great form. In fact, it couldn’t be much worse as they have failed to win any of their previous five matches and have conceded a total of 16 goals in those fixtures. It doesn’t get any easier for them as now they welcome table-topping Shamrock Rovers to UCD Bowl. UCD have a torrid record against the visitors, losing all of the last 11 meetings and it would be a huge shock if they got anything here.

Shamrock Rovers are in fine form and have only suffered defeat twice in their last 16 matches. They’ll be hoping that they won’t be the first side to travel away to UCD and lose and realistically, they should be winning comfortably here. Both of their defeats have come on the road this campaign but they’ll approach this one feeling confident that they can add another three points to their tally and strengthen their grip on the top spot as a result.

Shamrock to steamroll UCD

We can only see this going one way and that’s a victory for the visitors. UCD have been appalling and are yet to win on home soil this campaign. We’ll side with Shamrock Rovers to claim victory with the match seeing at least three goals in total. A 3-0 win for the away side would not be a surprise.
