Udinese to Win

Reason for tip

Udinese are unbeaten in their last nine Serie A games, winning six of them. Meanwhile, Torino have gone five league matches without a win and should struggle on a ground where Inter Milan, Fiorentina, Roma and Atalanta have failed to win in recent weeks.

Udinese vs Torino Predictions

  • Udinese are unbeaten in their last nine Serie A games, winning six of them.
  • Torino, on the other hand, are winless in five league matches, losing four.
  • The Zebrette are unbeaten in five home league games this season, winning three and scoring 10 goals.

Zebrette look to recover momentum

Udinese have played out back-to-back draws with Atalanta and Lazio since embarking on a six-game winning run in Serie A, one which has seen them emerge as potential dark horses for a European spot with several of Italy’s giants toiling in the season’s early weeks. Andrea Sottil will be keen to see Udinese recapture some momentum on Sunday, and a clash with out-of-form Torino may represent a good opportunity to do so.

Torino are winless in their last five Serie A games, losing four of them to put Ivan Juric under severe pressure. Il Toro started the season well, but their trademark defensive solidity has been found wanting of late – Torino have gone five league games without a clean sheet, and they have not made up for those failings at the other end. Indeed, only Sampdoria (five) have scored fewer than Torino’s eight Serie A goals this season.

Udinese, on the other hand, are unbeaten in nine league matches, posting six wins during that run, though they were dumped out of the Coppa Italia by Monza in midweek. The Zebrette have thrilled fans with an exciting style of play this term, scoring 16 goals in their last seven games, and boast a good record at the Dacia Arena, where they have won three of their last four games despite hosting Fiorentina, Roma, Inter Milan and Atalanta.

Torrid Torino no match for hosts

Udinese’s exceptional run of results against a series of tough opponents suggests they could be the real deal this season – only Lazio, who boast Serie A’s best defensive record, have stopped them from scoring since mid-August.

With that in mind, backing the hosts for victory appears a prudent play for Sunday, while an entertaining 3-1 Udinese win could offer correct score value – four of their last six games have contained over 3.5 goals.
