Ukraine and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Ukraine have won three of their last four and they can extend that against an Iceland side who lost six of 10 qualifiers. They finished just a point clear of a Bosnia side who lost 2-1 to Ukraine on Thursday. The visitors have managed to score in six of their last 10 trips, but they should still fall short here.

Ukraine 2-1

Reason for tip

Ukraine have seen both teams score in six of their last nine matches and they meet an Iceland side who have failed to score in just one of their last seven away trips. This should be a close game, so back a repeat of Ukraine’s 2-1 win on Thursday.

Ukraine vs Iceland Predictions

  • Ukraine have won three of their last four and pushed Euro 2020 winners Italy in qualifying
  • Iceland lost six of 10 games in qualifying, finishing a point above the side Ukraine beat on Thursday
  • Iceland have scored in six of their last seven away games

Ukraine to best another Group J side

Ukraine won 2-1 at Bosnia-Herzegovina in their playoff semi-final, putting them within one game of Euro 2024. Ukraine have been drawn as the home side for their clash with Iceland, with this tie being played at Tarczynski Arena in Poland.

Iceland progressed with an away win, claiming a 4-1 victory over Israel on Thursday night. However, Iceland struggled through their qualifying group, finishing up just a point better off than the Bosnia side that Ukraine dispatched earlier this week.

Iceland beat Bosnia once and picked up two wins over Liechtenstein to finish fourth, seven points shy of Luxembourg and a full 12 off the pace of the top two. Ukraine looked like the strongest side in this path after pushing Italy to the final day in qualifying, missing out on second on goal difference.

Iceland have strung together some wins going into this one thanks to friendly clashes with Guatemala and Honduras, but with six defeats in their 10 group games, Ukraine look good for a fourth win in five. However, Iceland have managed to score in six of their previous seven away games, netting in defeats at Slovakia and Luxembourg.
