Ukraine hopeful of first Group D victory

Kazakhstan travel to Kiev this week to take on Ukraine in a Group D game where there is everything to play for.

Ukraine have drawn both of their games so far, both with a 1-1 scoreline and whilst the first stalemate with France was a good result, they will be a little disappointed with the draw against Finland and will be trying to make amends here.

Kazakhstan lost their only Group D game so far, falling 2-0 to France. The result wasn’t an awful one with the minnows keeping the score respectable against the world champions but it might have been a precursor to how Kazakhstan’s qualifying campaign might pan out.

This game doesn’t look as though it will see much in the way of quality and, although Ukraine are struggling in attack recently, we’re backing them to come away with the win in this game and there to be under 2.5 goals. We’re forecasting a 1-0 win for the home side with neither team really coming away from this game with much credit.
