Reason For Union Berlin vs Bayer Leverkusen Predictions

  • Union Berlin have seen under 2.5 goals scored in each of their last six Bundesliga home games.
  • Bayer Leverkusen have scored under 1.5 goals in four of their last seven Bundesliga fixtures.
  • Bayer Leverkusen have conceded under 1.5 goals in nine of their last 11 Bundesliga fixtures.
  • Union Berlin have scored under 1.5 goals in five of their last seven Bundesliga fixtures.

Union Berlin have seen plenty of low scoring home games recently

Union Berlin will host Bayer Leverkusen this Saturday in German Bundesliga action. Union will attempt to earn their second straight Bundesliga win this weekend. However, they will face a tough test from fifth-placed Bayer Leverkusen. Plenty of Union Berlin’s recent fixtures have produced low scoring contests.

Union have seen under 2.5 goals in five of their last eight Bundesliga fixtures. Furthermore, Union’s home games have consistently been particularly low scoring this season. They have seen under 2.5 goals scored in each of their last six Bundesliga home games.

Union’s low scoring attack is likely largely responsible for their uneventful games in recent times. Union have scored under 1.5 goals in five of their last seven Bundesliga fixtures. Their relatively poor goalscoring record may continue this weekend against a defensively strong Bayer Leverkusen side.

Bayer Leverkusen have also been low scoring in plenty of recent fixtures

Similarly to Union Berlin, Bayer Leverkusen’s attack hasn’t been particularly prolific in recent weeks. Leverkusen have scored under 1.5 goals in four of their last seven Bundesliga fixtures. Leverkusen have also scored under 1.5 goals in five of their last nine Bundesliga away games.

We feel that both of these sides may well produce a strong defensive performance in this Saturday’s fixture. Union Berlin have been impressive at the back at home this season. They have conceded just 11 goals in their 10 Bundesliga home games. Only Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund currently have a better home defensive record than Union.

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen have conceded under 1.5 goals in nine of their last 11 Bundesliga fixtures. They have also conceded under 1.5 goals in six of their 10 Bundesliga away games this season. We feel that this game may be likely to produce a tightly-contested game.

Union’s impressive home record vs Leverkusen’s impressive away record

Union Berlin’s impressive home form is largely responsible for their respectable showing in this season’s Bundesliga. Union have lost just four of their 10 Bundesliga home games, winning all of the remaining six thus far. Furthermore, Union have lost just one of their last six Bundesliga home games.

However, Bayer Leverkusen have been equally impressive away from home as Union have been at home this season. Leverkusen have also lost just four of their 10 Bundesliga away games, winning the remaining six. Their away record is identical to Union’s home record this season.

We feel that this game may deliver a low scoring contest. We are backing under 2.5 goals to be scored in this one. Furthermore, we feel that these two sides may be tough to separate this weekend. We feel that a 1-1 draw may be a likely result of this game.
