Argentina looking to secure victory

Argentina’s final match before kicking off their World Cup campaign gets underway as they face off against the United Arab Emirates. They’re right up there with the favourites to win the biggest competition in the world and Lionel Scaloni’s side would like to kick off their campaign off the back off a victory here.

The UAE have played in the World Cup just once in their history, where they were eliminated at the group stage, and they fell short of qualifying for this one back in June when they were beaten 2-1 by Australia. They have played twice since that clash, losing 1-0 to Paraguay and 4-0 to Venezuela and it seems rather unlikely that they will put up a better fight against much better opposition.

Scaloni’s men to be far too strong
