Universidad Chile vs River Plate (Montevideo) Betting Tips

It is very much advantage River Plate though after they sprung a bit of a surprise in the 1st Leg by winning 2-0 in Montevideo. A Michael Santos penalty and an own goal from Universidad keeper Jhonny Herrera gave the Uruguayans the win but they still have plenty of work to do to finish the job in Santiago on Tuesday night.

The Copa Libertadores debutants are on the verge of making the group stages after the win in what was their first match of 2016. They started their league campaign at the weekend with a 1-1 draw at Fenix.

Universidad haven’t been enjoying a good time of it of late having finished 2015 poorly in the league following a poor Libertadores campaign which saw them lose 5 of their 6 matches, conceding 16 times in the process.

The early signs in 2016 have been that they haven’t resolved their frailties. They’ve won just 1 of their opening 4 league matches although they did score 8 goals in that match something that will give them hope here of overturning the 2 goal deficit.

Either way we are likely to see a few goals in this one and River Plate will be confident of getting the away goal they need to really assume a very commanding position. The Uruguayans have scored in all of their last 17 games in all competitions in a run stretching way back to last June. Universidad are still very strong favourites to win on the night though and it’s hard to see them failing to net at least once so consider backing both teams to score here at 10/11.

The Chileans are capable of still going through if they play their best football but the problem for them is that that has been all too rare occurrence of late so they may fall just short and a 2-1 home win looks appealing in the correct score market at 7/1.
