Tip Reasoning
Two Reasons to back Djokovic
1. He’s the master
He’s the modern day master of men’s tennis. He has terrific legs, a great serve, great return game and he’ll go toe-to-toe in baseline rallies as well. There’s nothing that Djokovic doesn’t have in his game and he doesn’t get the credit for being an all-tim great as much as he deserves. Winning finals like this will cement his legacy.
2. Unnoticed again?
It was such a comfortable run that Djokovic has almost gone unnoticed, if that’s possible. He’s made his advance look easy, though he’s been helped by some fortune including Marian Cilic’s injury in the semi-final.
Two Reasons to back Federer
1. Nuances added to his game
Federer is stepping up to attack the serve, he’s mixing it up more than ever and he’s played some fantastic tennis over the last few months. He looked brilliant through Wimbledon before coming unstuck against Djokovic there and if it’s possible, he’s playing even better now.
2. Destiny?
Can Federer keep knocking on the door of another Grand Slam title and not win one? Surely he has to catch Djokovic on a bad day at some point? It would be a story for the ages and maybe the will and desire, especially after Wimbledon, will be strong enough.
Our Betting Tips
We’re going to ride with Roger Federer. Analytics and statistics can only tell you so much in tennis and sports. There’s too many variables, too much to predict. We tipped Djokovic for Wimbledon and for the French Open. However, we think that Federer has managed to add even more elements to his game, he knows that his time is running out (if it hasn’t already) and he looks like a player desperate for one more Grand Slam title. He’ll get it here.
