USA U23 vs Guinea U23 Predictions

United States set for quarter-final appearance 

The USA quickly made amends for their opening 3-0 loss to the hosts by beating New Zealand 4-1 on Saturday, meaning a win in their final group game against Guinea should see them into the quarter-finals with the OlyWhites unlikely to beat France. 

The States should be feeling confident too as they comfortably beat Guinea 3-0 just four months ago. A repeat of that, or their performance against New Zealand which saw them rack up an impressive 3.33 expected goals, would surely be enough to see them secure a place in the quarter-finals. 

Guinea have won only two of their last eight matches, losing both games at the Olympics in that run, and could be set to finish on a disappointing zero points. 

Tournament to forget for Guinea

The National Elephants have arguably been unlucky, though, having registered 19 shots against New Zealand and seeing two goals disallowed against France. But when your luck’s out it’s out and the USA have a far more talented squad at their disposal. 

Midfielders Djordje Mihailovic and Gianluca Busio were exceptional against New Zealand and Team USA’s attackers looked dangerous throughout, with a repeat of that performance sure to lead to plenty of goals being netted at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard. 

Over 2.5 goals has been a winning bet in three of this pair’s combined four games in this tournament and it could pay to back the same outcomes alongside a United States win on Tuesday.
