      Valencia vs Las Palmas Predictions

Valencia spent a lot of money in the summer and their new signings have taken some time to settle in but there have been clear signs in their last two matches that they are starting to gel together nicely into what could be a very dangerous side.

Having picked up just 12 points in their opening 9 games and with goals looking hard to come by, the Mestalla was getting a little edgy but a 3-0 win over city rivals Levante helped calm some of the tension. They backed that up with an outstanding 5-1 win away to high-flying Celta Vigo last time out with Dani Parejo and Paco Alcacer both netting twice.

They would have enjoyed this international break considerably more than the previous two and confidence will be high going into this game against Las Palmas, one of the weakest sides in the division.

Quique Setién picked up his first win in charge of the Canary Islanders last time out as they beat a lackluster Real Sociedad 2-0 in Gran Canaria. It moved Las Palmas off the bottom and into 18th place but it’s very hard to see them getting anything from this game.

A quirk of the fixture list has meant that after this game they will have already travelled to all of last season’s top four. Unsurprisingly they failed to pick up any points away to Barcelona or the Madrid clubs and they only have 1 point on the road from 5 away matches so far, with their heaviest defeat coming via a 4-0 loss at Getafe.

Valencia are unbeaten in 17 matches in the league at the Mestalla and have won 13 of those games, 9 of which were by a margin of more than 1 goal. Against Las Palmas they should be well capable of doing that again and they look outstanding value at 9/10 when starting with a -1 Asian Handicap.

Only two sides have better defensive records than them this term and a win to nil is likely and they could easily repeat their 3-0 victory from their last home game and you can back that to be the case at 10/1.
