Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

Sevilla have scored multiple goals in only one of their away La Liga games against higher-placed opponents. Valencia have failed to beat Sevilla in their last five meetings at the Mestall, but three of those have finished 1-1.

Valencia vs Sevilla Predictions

  • Fewer than  three goals have been scored in six of Valencia’s last nine home league games
  • Sevilla have scored multiple goals in only one of their away La Liga games against higher-placed opponents
  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in four of the last six head-to-head meetings

Valencian dish is staunch defence

Goals could be on short supply in Valencia on Saturday when Los Che entertain Sevilla in La Liga.

Ruben Baraja’s side boast an imperious home record. The last time they lost at the Mestalla was in late September against Real Sociedad and since then they have dropped only a further four points.

Valencia have conceded the fewest goals in La Liga when playing at home – only six, but they have score only 15 times in front of their own fans.

Sevilla will try to keep it tight

Visitors Sevilla have picked up some form of late with back-to-back wins against Rayo Vallecano and Atletico Madrid giving them some added breathing space in the battle to avoid relegation.

Quique Sanchez Flores’ side achieved those wins with solid defending and their approach will be no different when they head to a ground that they have not lost at since 2017.

The likelihood is that there are few clear cut chances created on Saturday and probably fewer than three goals, which fits the pattern of recent Valencia home games and head-to-head meetings.
