Tip Reasoning

  • Valencia have lost just one of their last seven La Liga matches (W1, D5).
  • Los Che are unbeaten in their last nine competitive home games against Sevilla, winning six.
  • Odds-on favourites Sevilla could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to third-bottom Valladolid on Saturday.

Los Che Underestimated for Tuesday’s Clash at Mestalla

After just one loss from seven and a highly creditable 2-2 draw at Barcelona on Saturday, Valencia look well-priced in the double chance market for their midweek clash against Sevilla at Mestalla.

Los Che appeared destined for defeat at Camp Nou after Mouctar Diakhaby’s opener was overturned by goals from Lionel Messi and Ronald Araujo either side of the break, but Maxi Gomez stabbed home 20 minutes from time to earn Javi Gracia’s side a well-deserved point.

The performance and result will give Valencia huge confidence going into this Tuesday’s contest, where they will be seeking to extend a nine-match unbeaten run in competitive home matches against Los Palanganas.

Valencia beat Real Madrid 4-1 at Mestalla last month and subsequently lost by just a single goal on their own surface against leaders Atletico Madrid, so Los Che clearly have enough strong recent form in the book to suggest they can take something here.

Sevilla have won their last five away starts in all competitions and will equally back themselves to get a result this week, but they were poor at home to 18th placed Valladolid on Saturday (1-1).

So, despite being six places and five points worse off in the league table, 13th placed Valencia should be supported to claim at least a point this Tuesday night and 1-1 appeals as a likely score-line.

The last two meetings here have finished one apiece while the sides have kept just six clean sheets between them in 26 league games this term.
