Valencia vs Sevilla Predictions
- Both teams have scored in four of Valencia’s last six home games
- Five of Sevilla’s last nine outings have seen both teams net
- Sevilla have only lost two of their last seven fixtures in all competitions
Valencia remain in deep trouble
Valencia lost 2-1 to Almeria last time out, their second successive game in which both teams have scored, to ensure they remain in the La Liga relegation zone.
It has been a catastrophic season for Los Che, who have actually only kept two clean sheets in their last 13 outings.
Both teams have scored in only five of those games, but the picture is different at home, where both teams have netted in four of their last six fixtures.
Can Sevilla keep going?
Under the new management of José Luis Mendilibar, Sevilla have pulled five points clear of the relegation zone (at the conclusion of match day 28) and are now unbeaten in three matches in all competitions.
‘Los Nervionenses’ even profited from two own goals in their last game as they came from behind to draw 2-2 with Manchester United in the Europa League, a second straight fixture in which both teams have scored.
Indeed, both teams have netted in five of their last nine outings, as well as six of their most recent nine away La Liga fixtures – so while they are finding the net at one end, they aren’t keeping the ball out at the other.
I predict that both teams will score in this match, but I can’t separate them, so a 1-1 draw is my correct score prediction.
