- Vålerenga have conceded at least once in all five of their home games this season.
- Sarpsborg 08 have won two of their last three away games, recording clean sheets both times.
- Sarpsborg 08 have not lost a competitive away game at Vålerenga since 2016, winning two and drawing three of their last five games there.
Vålerenga vulnerable to Bohinen bounce
Vålerenga will look to continue their European challenge when they entertain inconsistent Sarpsborg 08 at Intility Arena on Thursday.
The capital club’s win over struggling Stabæk last time out saw them leapfrog Kristiansund into third place – the final Europa Conference League spot.
So they should be full of confidence for this meeting with mid-table opposition, albeit a team they have been unable to get the better of in recent times.
Although hard to catch right, Sarpsborg 08 have achieved better results on their travels than at home this season and are still getting used to new head coach Lars Bohinen.
Bohinen has lost both home games he has taken charge of since his appointment in early June, but Sarpsborg did gain a notable victory at Rosenborg between those defeats.
That performance will be the blueprint he uses to get another three points on the road and, with Vålerenga’s tendency to concede goals around the half-time mark, it looks worth taking Sarpsborg to win in the Half-time/Full-time market.
We’re targeting a big payout by selecting a 2-1 road victory in correct score betting because of Sarpsborg’s strong record in Oslo and Vålerenga’s inability to keep home clean sheets.
