Sevilla to grind out away success

Sevilla remain on the edge of the title race in La Liga thanks largely to their consistent form, as they have only lost three of their last 17 matches in the division.

The Andalusians usually build most their success on an impressive home record, but they have also looked good on the road this season, winning six of their last nine league games away from the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Julen Lopetegui will be confident his side can maintain that impressive run when they visit Valladolid, as Sevilla are unbeaten in their last eight meetings with Saturday’s hosts.

Valladolid are embroiled in La Liga’s relegation battle, with one of the main reasons for their struggles being a poor run of home form, as they have lost five of their last seven at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla.

Sergio Gonzalez’ side have also been lacking in terms of firepower, as they are averaging less than a goal a game in La Liga this season.

There has also been a lack of goals in recent meetings between these two sides, as each of the last five meetings have yielded under 2.5 goals.

We are predicting a similarly cagey affair on Saturday, but given the positions of the two sides in the table, coupled with Sevilla’s good recent record in the fixture, our overall prediction is for an away win and under 2.5 goals to be scored.
