Venezia to Win

Reason for tip

Venezia came the closest to scoring in Thursday’s 0-0 first leg and were much happier with the end result because they have excellent home form. Eight wins from their last 10 games in Venice, suggest the Winged Lions should win this game now as Cremonese have not won any of their last four away games.

Venezia 2-1

Reason for tip

Cremonese have scored in their last three away games, although they have managed multiple goals in only two of their last seven on the road. Two goals for Venezia, who have won their last three home games each by a score of 2-1, should be enough for victory and they can get bit against a Cremonese side that allowed two strikes at Catanzaro on their last away trip.

Venezia vs Cremonese Predictions

  • Venezia came the closest to scoring in Thursday’s 0-0 first leg

  • Venezia have won their last three home games each by a score of 2-1

Winged Lions set to make Serie A ascent

Venezia looked happy enough with a 0-0 draw in Cremona on Thursday and will now look to finish the job at home in order to claim the last remaining spot in Serie A next season.

The first leg of this play-off clash was a pretty even affair with plenty of efforts on goal from both sides, although neither was able to get behind their opponents’ defence much over the course of the 90 minutes.

Venezia came the closest to breaking the deadlock when Nicholas Pierini’s free-kick rattled the crossbar in the second half, but a draw was a fair result.

Cremonese can score in this clash

The Winged Lions’ excellent home form should see them through now as Paolo Vanoli’s side have won eight of their last 10 league games at Stadio Pierluigi Penzo.

The last three have all finished 2-1 and that is a scoreline that cannot be discounted here due to the amount of unconverted chances each side created in the first leg, which could easily have finished with both teams on the scoresheet.

Cremonese have scored in each of their last three away games, but they rarely get more than one and have only won once on their travels since the second week of March. The recommendation here is to back the home side to get the win in 90 minutes with a smaller stakes play on it finishing 2-1.
