VfB Stuttgart were defeated 6-2 in a crucial relegation “six pointer” away to Werder Bremen last Monday, which was also their fifth defeat in seven matches (D2 L5). Stuttgart have, in fairness, had a difficult set of fixtures, facing off against Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen within their last six but their performances have been, nonetheless, underwhelming.
