VVV vs Ajax Predictions

VVV were hammered 4-1 away at newly-promoted Sparta Rotterdam last time out and will have to put in a much better performance at home to Ajax if they are to stand any chance of taking something from the match. Ajax head into the game on the back of a 5-0 win over Emmen, which made up for the 2-2 draw on the opening day against Vitesse.

The stats and history suggest that Ajax are going to pick up all three points this weekend and that there is a good chance we will see both teams score in the process. Ajax have a great record against VVV, winning the last seven meetings between the pair and boasting a 72% win ratio from the pairs previous forty-four encounters.

The recent form of both sides also points towards an Ajax win as Vitesse have lost two of their last three matches, against Sparta 4-1 and Panathinaikos 1-0, while their guests remain unbeaten in their last five matches after beating PSV and Emmen, whilst drawing against Sivasspor, Vitesse, and PAOK.

Ajax actually have a good record of clean sheets in their recent encounters against VVV but the performances of both teams over the last month or so suggests that we will see both teams score on Saturday. Both teams scored in four of VVV’s and four of Ajax’s last six matches, with VVV keeping just one clean sheet during that period and Ajax managing just two.
