Dragons set to boost confidence in Cardiff

Wales began their Euro 2020 preparations with a comprehensive 3-0 defeat at the hands of tournament favourites France but they will be expecting a much easier time when they welcome Albania in the last of their pre-tournament friendlies.

Albania head into this friendly in decent form but the visitors haven’t exactly been tested over the last year or so. They have suffered defeats to Lithuania and England in the past 12 months and wins against Kosovo, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Andorra and San Marino are hardly representative of the challenge they will face in Cardiff.

Wales, by contrast, are unbeaten at home since November 2018 and have won ten of their 12 games there since. They have conceded just once in their last seven home games and this Albania side are far from prolific.

Only one member of the squad – Konyaspor striker Sokol Cikalleshi – has hit double figures for his country and they will find it tough to break down this Welsh defence. Backing a home win on Saturday alongside a fifth 1-0 scoreline in their last eight home games looks a good shout.
