      Under 2.5 Match Goals

      Reason for tip

Five of the Walsall’s last six games have gone under 2.5 goals and they defended well against Chesterfield in the first leg, the visitors have only scored twice in their last four road tips and the unders looks a solid bet.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

Walsall have drawn seven of their last 13 games and could hold the Spireites to a 1-1 draw that would send the home side to the play-off final.

      Walsall vs Chesterfield Predictions

      • Five of Walsall’s last six games have gone under 2.5 goals
      • Chesterfield have only scored two in their last four away games
      • Seven of Walsall’s last 13 games have finished as a draw

Impressive comeback win for the Saddlers

Walsall had a horror end to the season, going from looking like they had the League Two title all but wrapped up to falling out of the automatic promotion places altogether on the final day of the season.

The Saddlers put that firmly behind them with an impressive 2-0 win on the road against Chesterfield in the first leg of the play-off semi-final.

The Spireites finished the league campaign with a rattle to sneak into the final play-off spot but could not carry that form into the first clash between these two.

They had 75 per cent of the ball in the first game but struggled to create meaningful chances against a well-organised away side.

In the second leg they may fall into much the same trap.

      Low-scoring affair likely

Five of Walsall’s last six games have gone under 2.5 goals and a repeat of that is fancied in what looks set to be another cagey affair between these two given the stakes at play.

Chesterfield have found goals hard to come by on the road recently, they have netted just two in their last four road trips and the Saddlers have kept three clean sheets in their last four outings. Take the unders. Correct score backers may want to keep in mind that Walsall have drawn seven of their last 13 games and side with a 1-1 stalemate.
