Walsall vs Port Vale Predictions

• Walsall have scored in five of their last six home games
• Six of Port Vale’s last nine away fixtures have seen both teams score
• Walsall’s last half a dozen games at the Bescot Stadium have seen them lose just once

Can Walsall cause an upset?

On the face of it, Walsall’s form of late is atrocious, with four defeats in five meaning they’ve failed to climb into the top half of the table as they perhaps promised to do at one stage.

The majority of those losses have come away from home though, and they have in fact lost just once in six outings at the Bescot Stadium, winning five, with both teams scoring twice.

The Saddlers regularly net, but keeping a clean sheet has been less easy, managing just six of them in the league, of which only two have come against teams in the promotion race.

Port Vale desperate to bounce back

Port Vale lost ground in the title race last weekend when they suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to Bristol Rovers, the third time in five games both teams have scored.

That was however their first loss in ten, and they head to the Midlands on the back of four away victories in a row, half of which saw both teams net.

The Valiants are in third place in the table and in 19 away matches this season, they have failed to score only three times.

I think this will be a tight match. Both teams to score is my initial selection, but I do think Port Vale will grab the win, selecting 2-1 as a correct score prediction.
