Walsall vs Salford City Predictions

• Salford have lost three times and have failed to win half of their away league games

Ammies face tough test in top-of-the-table clash

League Two’s two form teams meet at Bescot Stadium on Monday when unbeaten Walsall will be looking to gain ground on leaders Salford City. The Ammies are chasing a seventh consecutive league victory after edging Bristol Rovers 2-1 last time out.

It was not a dominant display but Peter Cklamovski’s side have been finding ways to win. Goals have not been a problem as Salford have scored 19 in 12 league matches, but their away defensive record is not quite as impressive, with nine goals conceded in six road trips.

That should encourage Walsall and their backers, of which there may be many at generous odds. The Saddlers remain the division’s only unbeaten team and they are handily priced to stay that way after Monday’s match.

Sadler’s side are defensive scrooges 

Their home form has been built on defensive solidity with Mat Sadler’s side having conceded just seven goals all season and only two at Bescot.  While Salford’s six-game winning streak demands respect, history favours the hosts.

Walsall have won four of the last six league meetings between the sides and Salford have not tasted victory in their last three trips to Bescot. With Walsall unbeaten through 11 league games and boasting an outstanding defensive record at home, the Walsall Double Chance selection appeals as the standout play in what should be a closely contested affair.
